A Place Name in Aguascalientes

I wonder if anyone can help me with a place name in Aguascalientes.

I have a baptism record here for my husband's ggggg-grandfather, baptized in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes in 1748, but he was born in a place that looks like "Marinique". I don't find that place in the Diccionario Geografico, but when I Googled it, I came up with a "Marinique Resort" in Aguascalientes. However, when I entered the website, I couldn't find it listed. (It is a travel website).

Has anyone encountered this place name before and/or have any idea where in Aguascalientes or other state it may have been in?

    Thanks,

    Emilie Garcia

    A Place Name in Aguascalientes

    Hi Emilie:

I have a reference to a "Estancia de Monseñique, Aguascalientes, Mexico.
Could this be the place that you are looking for?

This is the place where Lorenza Ruiz de Esparza married Capitan Luis
Tiscareño de Molina y Marquez 16 May 1623.

    A Place Name in Aguascalientes

    John,

It could/must be. Now that I look at the record with my magnifying glass, I can see that there is a tilde above the "n" and the letters following the M could be "onse but the ink was blotched there. The last part of the name is definitely "nique" .

Also, the name of my husband's ancestor in this record is Felis Anttonio Duron Esparza, mestizo. He was baptized in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes on Feb. 27, 1748 and born on February 20, 1748 in (I guess it is) Monsenique (film # 0299430). His father was Franco. Duron, his mother Maria de Esparsa, both listed as mestisos. Grandparents are not listed so I don't know who Maria's parents were. His padrino was Juan Anto. de Esparza. Felis later married Maria Josefa de los Reyes and became the father of Maria Maxima Duron Reyes, from which my husband descends.

In what film did you find your Esparza? Who was her father? Maybe if I follow her Esparza line down to the 1700s I might find her connected to my husband's Esparzas. Have you followed the Esparsa descendancy?

    Thanks so much,

    Emilie

    Hi, Marge,

well, I think it might by that Monsenique because there definitely is a tilde above the n in the record. Manrique I don't think would have a tilde above the n. Is there a Manrique in Aguascalientes?

    Esparza

Sorry I didn't answer your question about the Esparza. I have not
researched the Esparza line beyond Lorenza.

    I have followed :
Lorenza Ruiz de Esparza married to Capt. Luis Tiscareño de Molina.

Their daughter: Lorenza Tiscareño de Molina married to Pedro Romo de Vivar.

    >From there, I followed the Romos to the González de Hermosillo which is my
    ancestry line.
