my great grandmother felisitas coronado was born in october 19 1896 and was married in villa de cos zacatecas mexico to my great grandpa crescencio. her parents were after looking at various census reports marriage records etc looks to be a francisco coronado and or a emilia sanchez. francisco coronado was born in jalisco, mexico around 1869 and was married in zacatecas, mexico. his parents from what i can tell from reading was a romauldo coronado and or a maria gonzalez. im having a hard time finding anything out on romauldo coronados parents who was supposed to be a maria amat and or a andres coronado. andres coronado birth date was supposed to be about 1825 and or wife maria amat was about 1827.. can anyone have a look at my tree information in my files and or helps me ? thanks you to whomever can or points me in right direction. so far from help i found out from connecting other lines of family there may be a family member who lives near neon leon mexico who may or not be alive still and that got me excited so thank you again you all definitely made my day!! im trying to find parents relating to andres coronado and or a maria amat.

hi danny yes it has been determined that the clara person is maria clara gonzalez and yes and yes the sanchez and or jaramillos are in my lines of family also. i will need to update the files as im new on here and trying to figure out everything. im currently working on andres coronado who is my 4th gr grandfather and or maria amat. i have looked at marriage dispensas through ancestry.com and on family search trying to determine on who their parents are.

I took another look at your question starting with Romualdo Coronado.

The two definite dates we have for him are his civil marriage in 1874, and his death in 1916. In the first, his parents are Andres Coronado and Maria Amat. In the second, the parents are Andres Coronado and Maria Mata. I've not seen Amat elsewhere as a surname, but have seen Mata before.

I did not find any civil birth records for children of Romualdo and Clara.

I found a baptism for a Francisco Coronado on 5 Mar 1869, in Villa de Cos, the son of Romualdo Coronado and Francisca Morillo, with parternal grandparents Andres Coronado and Maria Yrinea Mata, and maternal grandparents Pedro Motillo and Juana Morales. This is certainly the same Romualdo, but apparently with a first wife. (I did not find a marriage for them.) This raises a question: is your ancestor Francisco, born in 1869, the same as this Francisco? Perhaps the first wife died soon after birth, and Francisco was raised by the second, A death record might provide some evidence, but considering there are so few documents for this family, the fact that death records are more incomplete, it likely does not exist. Nonetheless, a search through the Villa de Cos church burial records would be in order.

The death record for Romualdo names a son Lucas. There is another record that names another son Julian.

I found a marriage record for Canuta Coronado, daughter (hija natural) of Romualdo Coronado, widower, and Petra Gomez, widow, and Nicolas Rodriguez, 29 Jul 1893, in Villa de Cos. I think this is the same Romualdo.

There is no marriage record for Andres Coronado, and no baptismal records for any children. I did not see any baptismal records for other Andres Coronado that I thought could be him. But since we have no clue at the present as to who his parents were, anything would be sepulation.

There may be marriage records for children of Andres, but the indexes frequently do not includes the names of the parents. The question is where to look. Villa de Cos is a good starting place, but it would mean looking through many years of marriage records. Ojuelos de Jalisco would also be a place to look. Other than these two locations the documents we have do not suggest anywhere else.

This is a tough genealogical problem, compounded with the scarcity of relevant document.

hi yes the romauldo coronoda who im currently working on at this time did die in 1916 in villa de cos, mexico and had parents by names of andres coronado and or a maria amat but like everyone in here i also seen the other last name for the woman so i was confused on that .on the relevance of andres coronado i show 2 marriages such as maria amat and or maria aloya domonte. they were found in san luis , potosi mexico and or other marriage record was for zacatecas mexico. a child was found with a maria aloya domonte by name of jerico coronado. i later found child jerico married to a maria cruz martinez. yes, the coronado side of my family is by far the toughest but i do thanks everyone for looking and or helping . Zacatecas, Mexico, Civil Registration Marriages, 1861-1952 via ancestry.com on maria amat. my 2nd gr grandfather was francisco coronado who was born about 1869 and no death information has been found for him yet. far as i understand at one time or another he did go towards kansas where his kids were at but later on moved back to mexico .

The names on your citation looked unusual, so I took a look at the marriage record. The record is online at Family Search: Cedral, San Luis Potosí, matrimonios 1906-1910, images 444-45. It is the marriage between Jesus Coronado, age 38, widower of Maria N(illegible) Mendoza, and Maria Cruz Martines. Jesus is the son of Andres Coronado, age 65, and Maria Aleja Monte (? Her surname is hard to read) Maria Cruz Martines is the daughter of Ysidro Martinez and Andrea Rodriguez.

I see nothing in the record that connects this family to the Coronado family of Villa de Cos. This Andres Coronado, based on his stated age of 65 was a born about 1844, which makes him much younger than your Andres Coronado, who you estimated was born in the 1820s. Stated ages are often not accurate, but this seems too far off to be the same person.

You also need to be careful about the Ancestry.com indexes - the names are not always correct, so you must must always look at the actual record. "Jerico" was a name I've never seen. Looking at the record, the name is actually Jesus.

From the info here you may be able to find the birth or baptismal record for Jesus Coronado, who was a born about 1871 based on his stated age. Again, this could be off by a couple of years. This record might say where his parents were from.

There are two baptisms for children of Andres Coronado in Cedral, SLP. There is no baptism for Jesus. Andres' wife's surname is Duarte, not Monte.

Tepetongo is a little less than 100 miles from Villa de Cos by modern roads; this is not too far away to make it an unlikely connection. However, we need something that makes the connection between the family of Villa de Cos and that of Tepetongo. If there was a baptism for a child of Andres Coronado and Maria Irinea Mata, or a death record for Maria Irinea that names both her husband and parents, then we would know.

The church death/burial records are not indexed, checking them would be tedious, but might be your only option. If you decide to do this, I would suggest Villa de Cos first, then Tepetongo. If you had a marriage record for one of their children that described Maria Irinea "que vive " or "difunta " you would have a date from which to start looking. "Que vive" would mean she died after that date, and "difunta" would mean before that date. If you do find her death record, and it does not mention husband and parents, you have not gained much.

Another option would be to look at the all Coronado marriages in both Villa de Cos and Tepetongo to see if there are other children of Andres and Maria Irinea. Sometimes, but not often, marriage records will name grandparents. Looking at collateral lines can sometimes provide the necessary clues to establish the lineage.

Typical marriage ages for men are about 20-25, and 15-20 for women, but there are exceptions. Nonetheless, this can suggest the marriages to look at.

Here is a record that may help the research. Sometimes the parents are married years after their kids are born. Not often, but it has occurred. One couple that I studied had five kids before they married, and it was many years after the first one had been born.

after looking for the records and having a look i do agree looks like he might have married several times.fantastic! this part of puzzle is solved ty to everyone. now i will start to look for maria amat or mata as they calls her back then . i did note in a record that the woman by the name of maria duarte had died in san luis, potosi, mexico about 1917 .

i found the marriage record for my 6th great grandparents maria guerrero and or a pedro coronado and also did find some children . however , i haven't found anything regarding my 6th great grandparents parents? is there anywhere else i should be looking in family search area? also, for further reference i did take the dna test it was submitted back and received by april 12,2017 and am awaiting results .
